“Are you kidding me!?” These were the words I found myself using over and over again at the wedding for Jenna & Adam Faz, at the gorgeous Chaparral Pines Golf Club in Payson, Arizona. The lovely bride & groom reserved us our own seats at the reception, fresh with our own name tags, and parting gift. We are supposed to be serving you guys, not the other way around lol! But hey, that’s what awesome people do, take care of others and treat them like family even when they aren’t. The gift was homemade apple butter made by the brides grandmother!! Are you kidding me!!?? She made them for every guest!! You can just tell that this family is full of love and it really pours over into those around them.
Jenna is a neonatal nurse and takes care of the littlest and sickest people in our city. Adam is a UPS driver, and recently made it on the news for stopping during his route to run to the rescue of a police officer that was being attacked. The two of them met at a Toby Keith’s, actually several times before Adam got the courage to ask Jenna out. On their first date they visited a Starbucks, and Adam secretly kept her empty Starbucks cup. On that day he wrote “She will b my gf” and the date 12-13-14. He presented it to her again on their wedding day, and Jenna couldn't help hold back the tears. There is a pure thoughtfulness from them, and a genuine heart that was clear with every word they spoke.
One of the things every couple wants captured in their video is the first reaction of one another after seeing each other for the first time. This wedding really delivered! Adam a self proclaimed “non crier” couldn’t hold back the tears, and couldn’t stop uttering phrases such as “Wow!”, “She looks great!”, and “That dress is a home-run!” You could sense the connection from Jenna’s face as she locked eyes with her man, that this was a special moment for both of them.
Another are-you-kidding-me moment was after the ceremony. We road out on a golf cart to grab footage of the newly married couple together, as we noticed 5-6 elk just chillin’ on the green! Of course we got out and grabbed some footage of them in the background with Jenna & Adam. Later as we returned back to the clubhouse we found the elk again on the driving range! This time about 14 in total, feeding, and hanging out….so we grabbed some more footage!! After talking to the venue coordinator, she said there are roughly 400 elk that live on their golf course.
Overall the day was amazing! We captured so many great memories and cinematic images. I truly believe that our work is taken to another level when we are received and welcomed into the family as one of their own, and that's exactly what happened on this day. Of course Jenna & Adam will remember this day for years to come, but they will not be alone. My team and I will always remember our first destination wedding, and that’s really a testament to the couple and the beautiful group of family and friends that we spent the day with.
Also special thanks to Wynsum+Marrow Photography for being such a great team to work alongside. We really value the relationship we get to build with the photographers the day of the wedding, not only because it's so important that we serve our couples well, but also because it's an opportunity to make new friends. We can certainly say that we consider them our friends and recommend them to anyone!
